Services
Focused diagnostic and electrical work for Ford vehicles. If it talks on a network, throws a code, or does something it shouldn't, I can help.
FORScan Configuration & As-Built Changes
FORScan gives access to Ford's module configuration in ways that generic scan tools can't touch. I use it for feature enabling, module setup after replacement, and as-built data adjustments.
Common requests include enabling or disabling features like Bambi mode, global window operation, door lock behavior, TPMS reconfiguration, and restoring correct as-built values after a module swap. I keep detailed records of changes made so nothing is left to guesswork.
If you're not sure whether FORScan can do what you need, reach out and I'll give you a straight answer.
Module Troubleshooting
Modern Fords have dozens of networked modules, and when one fails or loses communication, the symptoms can be confusing. Warning lights, dead gauges, features that stop working, or DTCs that don't seem related to the actual problem.
I diagnose module-level faults using a combination of factory-level scan tools, FORScan, and targeted electrical testing. Whether it's a BCM that's not waking up, a GEM with corrupted configuration, or an APIM that dropped off the network, I'll find out what's actually wrong before anything gets replaced.
Electrical Diagnostics
Electrical problems are where most shops lose patience. Intermittent faults, parasitic draws, corroded connectors buried in a harness, or a short that only shows up when it's hot outside. These are solvable — they just take methodical diagnostic work.
I use wiring diagrams, a DMM, a scope when needed, and a lot of patience. I trace circuits, check grounds, verify power and signal integrity, and identify the actual root cause. No parts-swapping, no guessing.
CAN Bus & Network Analysis
Ford vehicles use multiple CAN bus networks (HS-CAN, MS-CAN, and others depending on platform) to let modules communicate. When there's a network problem — a shorted bus, a module dragging down communication, or a gateway issue — the symptoms can cascade across the entire vehicle.
I diagnose network faults by analyzing bus communication, isolating segments, and identifying which module or circuit is causing the problem. This is especially relevant on S197 Mustangs and other platforms where aftermarket wiring, module swaps, or corrosion can introduce network issues.
Tuning-Adjacent Diagnostics
If you're running a tuned Ford — naturally aspirated Coyote, turbocharged EcoBoost, supercharged setup — I can help with the diagnostic side. This isn't a tuning service.
That means verifying sensor operation before a tune, reviewing datalogs for diagnostic red flags, confirming modules are communicating correctly after hardware changes, and troubleshooting issues that show up post-modification. I work alongside your tuner.
Pre-Purchase & Pre-Replacement Diagnostics
Before you buy a used Ford — or before you spend money replacing a module or component — it's worth knowing exactly what you're dealing with.
I offer diagnostic evaluations focused on electrical and module health. I'll scan all modules, check for stored and pending codes, look at network communication, and evaluate the overall electronic condition of the vehicle. This helps you make informed decisions instead of expensive guesses.
This is especially useful for S197 Mustangs, where gauge cluster failures, BCM issues, and wiring problems are common enough that a targeted check can save real money.
